Seth F. Oliveria, MD, PhD.
Seth F. Oliveria, MD, PhD graduated with honors from Linfield College in McMinnville, OR before earning both his MD and PhD from the University of Colorado while participating in the Medical Scientist Training Program. His doctoral thesis, funded by an NIH NRSA fellowship, focused on the biophysics of neuronal L-type calcium channel regulation and nuclear signaling. He has presented his research at many international scientific meetings and has been the recipient of several competitive meeting and research awards. During medical school he organized the National MD/PhD Student Conference and served for two years as a voting member of the MSTP admissions committee.
Dr. Oliveria completed his neurosurgical training at the University of Florida including a stereotactic and functional neurosurgical fellowship with Dr. Kelly Foote. He performs general cranial and spinal neurosurgery and is particularly interested in deep brain stimulation and the surgical treatment of epilepsy. He participates in clinical and basic science research related to these surgical procedures.
Dr. Oliveria is married and owns a beagle and a german shorthaired pointer. He enjoys photography and various outdoor activities including snowboarding and backpacking.
