Arvind Mohan

Arvind Mohan MD was born and raised in Houston, TX. He attended Yale University and graduated with a BS in Intensive Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. In college, Dr. Mohan was involved in global health project management and traveled to India, Botswana, and Angola to work on the implementation of healthcare delivery projects. He also spent time conducting basic science research examining the role of white blood cells in mediating angiogenesis. Additionally, he began to develop an interest in teaching and mentoring students through tutoring at a youth prison.

Following college, he returned to Houston and received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine in 2018. In medical school, Dr. Mohan continued to participate in research related to improving outcomes and quality in neurosurgery, and in educational endeavors such as anatomy tutoring for junior medical students and MCAT tutoring for undergraduates. He was honored by the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery with a Special Professionalism Award to recognize his “professionalism and ethical conduct in patient care.”

Dr. Mohan joined the University of Florida for his neurosurgical residency training in 2018 and plans on graduating in 2025. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, photography, sports and running. He is looking forward to exploring Gator Nation during his time in Gainesville.
