Biography

John Lybarger was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida. He attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2005.

He began his career in clinical research in 2010 at the University of Florida as a data manager on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit where he soon transitioned to a clinical research coordinator role. During this time, he earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a Management and Policy concentration. After earning his MPH, John worked in the Department of Radiation Oncology for several years before accepting a management role in the UF Health Cancer Center’s Solid Tumor Office. He then joined the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) as an Associate Director for the TAPUR Study. He returned to the University of Florida in 2023 and currently serves as Associate Director for Clinical Research in the Department of Neurosurgery.

John has been a member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) since 2012 and has held multiple leadership positions at the local chapter level, including having served as president.
