Alicia Wyrick was born in Beckley, West Virginia. Alicia began her career in Research Administration in 2015 at Radford University. She then moved to a larger central office role in Post Award Administration with Virginia Tech. She most recently was the Grant Coordinator for the Virginia Tech College of Veterinary Medicine.
During her time with Virginia Tech she cross trained as a backup with the Pre-Award Department. She also held a previous position in the Controllers Office in the Travel Department and served as a backup for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team in 2012-2014. She obtained the Virginia Tech Certified Research Administrator Level I and Level II Certificate. She is a NCURA (National Council of University Research Administrators) and SRAI member (Society of Research Administrators International) with whom she has obtained Post-Award Research Administration Certificate.
She is currently working on obtaining her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and studying for her CRA (Certified Research Administration) Exam. She is new to UF and eager to further her career in Clinical Trials. Her responsibilities include negotiating and executing clinical trial budgets and ensure all studies are fiscally compliant.
