She is currently a Neurosurgery resident at the University of Florida.

Abeer is committed to education, community health, and leadership. During medical school, she worked as a teaching assistant, BLS instructor, and mentor to undergraduate students, while also volunteering at free healthcare clinics in Gainesville to support underserved populations. She held leadership roles in the Choosing Wisely STARS initiative, advocating for resource stewardship, and was actively involved in the Muslim Student Organization.

Dedicated to mentoring and empowering women in medicine, Abeer seeks to inspire the next generation of neurosurgeons and healthcare providers. She envisions a future in academic neurosurgery where she contributes toward patient-centered care, driven by innovation and informed by the latest research. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family, fostering/rescuing cats, doing henna art, and reading fiction books.
