Background
In 2010, UF and Shands Leadership challenged UF Neuromedicine to further expand our clinical and academic reach. Led by Dr. William Friedman and Dr. Tetsuo Ashizawa, the challenged resulted in the formation of the Neuromedicine Interdisciplinary Clinical and Academic Program (NICAP). In establishing NICAP, UF departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery underwent a partnership dedicated to study their practices and develop a strategic design resulting in the quality of patient care, access, and satisfaction.
