Rotation Schedule

PGY I

Dr. J. Bridger Cox working with Dr. Kristopher Hooten in the SRTLThe PGY I (Intern) year consists of six 4-week rotations on neurosurgery, three 4-week rotations on neurology, and four 4-week rotations on surgical specialty rotations, e.g. critical care, ENT, orthopedics, trauma.

PGY II and III

PGY II and PGY III (Junior resident) rotations are in 4-month blocks. Resident will experience each of the Shands clinical services (orange, blue and red), the VA clinical service, a clinic rotation and a combined Neuroradiology and Neuropathology rotation.

PGY IV

PGY IV (Senior resident I) rotation is one year dedicated to research. Opportunities exist for a second year of research.

PGY V

Dr. Lewis in OR with Resident AssistantPGY V (Senior resident II) year consists of four 3-month rotations, currently all at the Shands Hospital either on the orange or the blue service.

PGY VI

PGY VI (Chief resident) year consists of four 3-month rotations alternating between the Shands and the VA hospitals.

PGY VII

PGY VII residents pursue their Transition to Practice year.
