Raul Vasquez-Castellanos, MD
RAUL VASQUEZ-CASTELLANOS, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, graduating 1st of 121 students. Dr. Vasquez was junior elected Alpha Omega Alpha member. He received his BS in chemistry, graduating summa cum laude, and completed his general surgery internship at the University of Puerto Rico.
Dr. Vasquez's research interests include tumors of the brain and spine. His research in vascular pathologies led to his participation in clinical research of carotid endarterectomy and a subsequent publication of the research. He began his neurosurgery residency in July 2008 and is scheduled to complete the program in 2015.
As an undergraduate, Dr. Vasquez was part of the university swimming and water polo teams. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and, in his free time, enjoys traveling and playing outdoor sports.
